

Laura Elizabeth Cauthen, 97, went home to be with the Lord on April 28th, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 14th, 1928, in Woolsey, Georgia, and later made her home in Winter Haven, Florida, where she spent the majority of her life.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife to her late husband, Victor Cauthen, with whom she shared more than 50 years of marriage while raising their family. She was employed at GTE for 31 years as a telephone operator.
Putting jigsaw puzzles together, playing word search on her tablet, reading the newspaper and People magazine, and watching Hallmark movies were some of her favorite activities.
Known for her generosity and kind spirit, Elizabeth was a loving and steady presence in the lives of those around her. Her greatest pride was her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and compassion.
She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Coulter of Tallahassee, Florida; Patricia Cauthen and Peggy Criss (Mike) of Winter Haven, Florida; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Laura, Paige, and Elizabeth; and nine great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents, Earl and Floy Lewis; her son-in-law, Neal Coulter; and her beloved granddaughter, Misty Hardwick.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
