Sonny and I were close friends since I was 14 years old.   I thought he looked so much like Pat Boone, and had a big crush on him,  as did several other girls in our church youth group, who wrote to him regularly when he was away in the Navy, although he was several years older.   While Sonny  was in the Navy he sent me a sailor's cap & sailor's scarf for my 16th birthday.  As I grew older and met & married the love of my life, Sonny videotaped our wedding and mailed the tape to me.  This is the kind of person he was... always thinking of others and doing things for them to let them know they are special.  He was  so special, caring & generous and I'll miss him very much, especially his unique sense of humor and laughter.   He, Joyce and Catherine Robertson have been blessings in my life from my childhood!  God bless you,  my friend, Joyce! You are in my thoughts & prayers. ❤

Sonny: was blessed to be your pastor for almost 14 years. Had some great times at First Baptist Church Eagle Lake. We had a great time when you went with me on a group to Israel. I’m sorry we never got to do the journeys of the apostle Paul like we wanted to. Rest in peace my brother till we meet again at the trumpets call!

My heart is grieving the loss of this wonderful man. He was the uncle I never had and I love best when he shared stories of his and Ms Joyce’s mom in Tennessee and their return home to Eagle Lake. I will miss brunch and the Diner and talking plants with him. I’m ever grateful that he and Ms Joyce became a part of my journey. He will be missed deeply.😢

So many things to share. We all grew up in church together. About 6-7 of us. It’s hard to say just one thing. There eas Jack & Bettys time. Going to movies together & being in things in chirch together. Mostly church.  Always something hoing on or going out to the Sheffields forsnipe hunting.  We all good Christian fun. 
    Sonny I will miss you much but hild a place in line for me.
