

Marcus Randolph Robinson was born on December 7, 1951 to Luther and Evelyn Robinson of Pilgrim Knob, Virginia. After a two year long battle with cancer, he went to meet our Lord on July 13, 2019 while a patient at Winter Haven Hospital. He was a graduate of Whitewood High School where he excelled in basketball, setting five state records and appearing in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd when he was a senior.
Mark was a resident of Winter Haven, FL for the past 22 years. He was married to Linda Horn Robinson for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Earnest, Dale, and Kendall Robinson and one grandson Liam Bentley O’Fee. He is survived by his wife and four children: Elizabeth Moore (Jerry), Inverness, FL; Erik Robinson, St. Petersburg, FL; Marcus Robinson, II (Jennifer), Vero Beach, FL; and Hali O’Fee (Teige), Sarasota, FL. Brothers surviving include: Kyle Robinson, Tazewell, VA; Karl (Lorene) Robinson, Piney Flats, TN; and Nathan (Donna) Robinson, Cedar Bluff, VA. Also surviving were 11 grandchildren: Hunter Robinson, Erik Gage Robinson, Ellie Moore, Isaac More, Marcus Robinson, III (Trey), Logan Robinson, Mackenzie Robinson, Finnley O’Fee, Declan O’Fee, Claire O’Fee, and Gannon O’Fee.
While living in Virginia he was a coal miner and while in Florida he was a sand miner. Mark attended Tennessee Tech University and University of Maryland-Berlin. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the Berlin Brigade in Berlin, Germany. Mark served as a Deacon at Winter Haven Christian Church where he participated in the Kids Pack, maintenance and repairs on the church, assistant Sunday School teacher, VBS volunteer, and truly enjoyed helping less able members of the church around their homes. Mark was full of jokes and enjoyed making people laugh. He had a huge heart and a willingness to help anyone in any way that he could. He enjoyed watching basketball, eating anything sweet, and time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Ott Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven, FL. The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 17, 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota, FL.
