Mary McLeod Richardson

Mary was raised in Luverne, AL. Following high school, she attended technical school in Montgomery, AL to study computer programming. Soon after completing her studies, she married T. Wayne McLeod. The newlyweds moved to Winter Haven, Florida, where she began her career in data processing (as it was then called). Her I.T. work experiences included 10 years at Polk Community College, 10 years as I.T. manager for the City of Winter Haven, and several years with Polk County, FL.

Mary and Wayne had two children, Tim and April, who were the most important things in her life, after our Lord, Jesus Christ. Of the Southern Baptist faith, Mary was always a devoted and active member of her church. Mary loved people and maintained a wide circle of friends from her neighborhood, her church and her work.

She was blessed with three wonderful grandchildren: Connor and Morgan are Tim’s children, and Marshall is April’s son. Wayne died suddenly in 2014, and April passed away in 2015.

In 2016, Mary married Jay Richardson. They lived in Winter Haven.
