I will always remember Mike with his kindness and willingness to accept me like I was family. He invited me to go to Puerto Rico with Aunt Phyllis and Lisa to stay at his sister's home because he knew how close I was to my Aunt Phyllis. In Puerto Rico, I felt so comfortable being around him and his family and I knew that he loved my Aunt and that there was so much love in that home and that he had so much love that he wanted to give. Every time I came to visit in Florida he opened his home and his heart and I loved him for that. His smile was contagious and he really seemed to care about me and my family. He was a great man and I was lucky enough to have met him. Rest in Peace. You have made so many people happy with your kind heart and generosity. You will be missed.

Mike is my oldest uncle of 5. Because we grew up in the same household, he was more like my older brother. The thing I remember most about him is how he took every day and made the best of it. Worked with such joy and passion that It was almost contagious. He was also one to try and get a laugh out of people. Once when he came back from basic training mom asked him to give me a haircut because he was pretty good at cutting hair. So he gave me the same cut they gave him going into the Army. Clean shaven! At first mom was so angry, but after the whole family, while watching TV, wondered who that new kid plopped in front of the TV was, we all got a chuckle. I’m going to miss him. God bless him and may we keep him alive in our memories. Here he is with all my other uncles as kids.
