I grew up with Patty and went through many trials and tribulations with her. I was a young Marine returning from boot camp prior to going to Viet Nam when Patty and I met at a party and we dated briefly before I left. She wrote me religiously while I was in virtually constant combat and kept me from losing faith. If not for her I am not sure what my head would have been like at that time. I had her photo out on sandbags drying one day during the monsoon and my fellow Marines all just stared at her photo. It reminded us all that there was a life to be lived and such pretty girls did indeed exist. It was a day I recall even now as Patty brought a bunch of guys back to the world. I would read her letters to the guys and they all loved her in some way for her encouragement and support. At our last reunion some of them asked about her. She remains a force to all of us. Love from your Marines Patty. Semper Fi

Patty was special to our family and every life that she touched. We always joked that I was her favorite student. We were extra fortunate to have children that were best friends and we were able to enjoy each other's families as our children grew. I could feel her smiling down at today's service. Our prayers to Bill, Bill, Anna, John Michael and all of the rest of the family. We will all miss her. Brent, Janie, Steven, Aaron and Collin Meadows
