

Born the youngest child to Berry and Florence Colvin on October 10, 1933, in Madison County, Florida. He moved to Winter Haven in 1948 with his family. After graduating Winter Haven Senior High school, he served in the military before beginning his career as a fruit inspector with the Department of Agriculture for the State of Florida and later retired as a supervisor. He was a well-known member of his community and enjoyed working on vehicles. He spent his life as a devoted, loving and hard-working husband, father and Papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister. He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Josephine “Jo” Colvin, daughter Sonya Ryan (Kevin), son Russ (Jennifer), granddaughters Nikki Sloat (Bryan), Lacey Wyatt (Adam), Joilee Colvin, grandsons Rusty Williams, Russell Colvin (Tony) and great-grandchildren Shane, Ruziya, Logan, Rutavyon, Jazmine, Jaxon, Lydia, Rulonia, Rudarian and Anakin.
Services will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven, Florida on Friday, October 6, 2023, with visitation starting at 10 am and service following at 11 am. He will be laid to rest at Auburndale Memorial Park.
