Winter Haven - Solon Eugene "Duke" Manning, age 70, of Winter Haven passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at his residence. He was born

in Pulaski, TN on March 28, 1040 to the late Sherdie and Willie (Womble) Manning and moved to Florida as a child in the early 1950s. He was a representative for International Paper. Gene enjoyed playing golf and was very active with the Grace Gospel Fellowship of Winter Haven. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (1998) and son Kenny. He is survived by son David of Ft. Myers, daughter Karen (Kenny) Whitted of Winter Haven, brothers Jerry Manning of Winter Haven and Charles Manning, a missionary in Cambodia, sisters Beatrice Campbell, Faye Melson and Ivey Ore, all of Winter Haven and five grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM, funeral service Wednesday at 10:00 AM, Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 West Central Avenue, Winter Haven, FL; In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Charles Manning mission, c/o Grace Gospel Fellowship of Winter Haven, 323 3rd St., NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
