Shannon Carol Jones, 44, passed away October 7, 2018 in St. Petersburg, FL at the home of a friend. Shannon was born in Seaford, Delaware and moved to Florida with her mother in 1978.

Shannon Graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1992. She attended classes at Polk Community College and Cuyahoga Community College in Ohio.

Shannon suffered from Multiple Scleroses since her teenage years but continued to fight the disease with all she had. She, however, struggled with depression and addiction, a battle she was unable to overcome.

When Shannon was able to work, she was always seen as a bright and valuable employee. She began her working days in high school at Publix Store Number 1. She was proud to tell people that she was following in her Daddy’s footsteps, as he worked there as a teenager, too. She held several waitressing and clerical jobs locally. She worked for the Cleveland Indians spring training program which led her to move to Ohio. While in Ohio, she worked for Ceres Health Insurance, where she was celebrated as the 2004 Employee of the Year. Shortly after that, her M.S. exacerbated and she became permanently disabled.

Shannon later moved to Denver, Colorado and in 2017, returned to Winter Haven.

Everyone who knew Shannon loved her beautiful smile and kind spirit. She was always willing to offer to help a friend. Shannon trusted that most people were good. Her laugh was infectious.

Shannon leaves behind a daughter, Emilee Carol Moore, of Strongville, OH, her parents, James and Susan Jones, her four sisters, Erin (Chris) Euverard and Megan Jones, all of Winter Haven, Kimberly Cherico of Elkton, MD and Dawn Shinaberry of Dover, DE. She leaves behind her niece, Cassie Euverard, and two nephews, Carson Euverard and Liam Evans, all of Polk County. She is also survived by her grandmother, Lucille Hamm and a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

A memorial service will be held on October 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Parkland Baptist Church in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in Shannon’s memory to either your local MS society or Center for Addictions.
