Sharon Sylvia Pettit

Born on April 19, 1939, in Center Line, Michigan, Sharon built a life defined by perseverance, generosity, and devotion to her family.

She spent five decades at Allen and Company, where she began her career humbly and rose through dedication and hard work to become a certified financial planner and company senior vice president. Her commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients, and her retirement marked the close of a remarkable 50-year career.

She is survived by her daughter Lori Pettit Fischer and son Michael Pettit. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Adriane Ovcharenko (Stas), Caitlin Vaczi (Chris), Buddy Pettit, and Anne-Marie Pettit; and her great-grandchildren: Robert “RJ” Vaczi, McKenna Vaczi, Maks Ovcharenko, Lily Vaczi, Xander Ovcharenko, and Willow Vaczi.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Wayne Pettit, and her son-in-law, Buddy Fischer.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the SPCA or Good Shepherd Hospice in Sharon’s honor.

A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on June 28, 2025.
