Shirley Coquillard James Borntrager, 69,of
Winter Haven, FL, passed away Monday, July
15, 2013, of congestive heart failure, in her home.
She was born Dec. 30, 1943, in Syracuse IN,
to George and Hazel (Cowell) Coquillard.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bert" Borntrager; three
daughters, Linda (Fred) James Bowlin of Elkhart, IN, Jana James Eddings
of Houston, TX, and Betty James McGarrity of Valrico,FL;
one son, Ricky James of Avon Park, FL.
Also surviving is a sister, Hazel Sawyer of Elkhart, IN. She has
seven grandchildren; Nancy Bowlin of Elkhart, IN, Paula (Craig) Lynch
of Elkhart, IN, Sara Bowlin of Binghamton, NY, Buck Eddings of Wesley Chapel, FL,
Joshua James of Lytle, TX, Amanda James of Shawnee, OK,
and Nicholas James of Germany; and five great-grandchildren. She
also leaves behind her beloved dog, Buster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel
Coquillard; two brothers, Sam and George Coquillard; and three
sisters,Thelma Hamood, Buelah Shear and Jessie Knafel.
Shirley worked her entire life as a waitress and cook.
She was retired at the time of her death. She enjoyed her favorite
drink, Coca Cola, and had an extensive collection. She also enjoyed
golfing, watching reality television shows and "Days of Our Lives."
Shirley was a big Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Rays fan. She
spent a lot of time playing socko with her dog. But closest to her heart,
was the time she had with her children and grandkids.
There will be no public funeral services.
A private memorial will be held for the family Sept. 5, 2013.
