

STEPHEN BENNETT Stephen Bennett, formerly of Loxahatchee, went home to meet his Lord on May 17, 2001 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Steve was an Army veteran who served in Germany and he also gave 33 years of service to Palm Beach County's Bridge Department before retiring from his last position as Superintendent of Bridges in July 2007. He was a long-standing member of Christ Fellowship in Palm Beach Gardens before moving to his new homes in Warne, NC and Perry, FL. Steve was the beloved son of John and Irene Bennett of West Palm Beach (both deceased) and is survived by his two loving brothers and a loving sister; T. Wayne Bennett (and wife, Tina Thompson Bennett), John R. Bennett and Carolyn Bennett Devitt. He also leaves behind a niece; Tracie Bennett Thornton, two nephews; Shawn Michael Bennett and Tait Michael Bennett and many that he lovingly called his friend. Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2001 at Ott-Laughlin Funeral home at 645 W. Central Ave, Winter Haven, FL. (863) 293-2133. Family Viewing will be at 1:00 PM followed by a Public Viewing at 2:00 PM and a Chapel Memorial Service at 3:00 PM. He will be interred at Eagle Lake Cemetery in Eagle Lake, FL following the Memorial Service.
