Terri Lane Mincey, age 64, passed peacefully September 10, 2021. Born December 23, 1956, in Ravenna, Ohio, she was the daughter of Dallas and Betty Lane. She married her longtime love, Billy E. Mincey, in 1977, who preceded her in death in 2004. They shared 27 years of marriage.
A longstanding Florida resident and known for her sweet spirit, servant’s heart, and tenacity for life, Terri lived by the motto: “Life is short. Eat dessert first.” Terri loved people, and her family meant the world. She took great pride and joy in being a mother to her daughter, Elizabeth, and a Gigi to her grandsons, Weston and Laton. She enjoyed traveling, baking, sewing, and quilting with her most recent creation being a quilt made for her daughter.
For over thirty years Terri worked as an Orthodontic Assistant to Dr. Richard White. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, FL, where she was a member of their Praise Team and Choir. Singing was one of Terri’s passions and she loved singing for the Lord.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Colossians 3:23-24, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Terri was a follower of Christ, and it is this knowledge that provides comfort and rest in knowing the truth found in 1 Corinthians 15:54, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
Terri is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Wheeler; son-in-law Steven Wheeler; grandchildren Weston and Laton Wheeler; her mother Betty Lane; and siblings Tammi Durham and Robert Lane, all of whom she loved deeply.
A celebration of her life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on December 4, 2021, at 10:00 in the morning. A dessert reception will follow.
