Thomas L Gentry

Thomas "Tom" L. Gentry of Winterhaven, Florida passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, May 25,2015. He was 77 years old.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents James W. and Helen E. Gentry; brother, Michael Gentry; brother, Gene Lowery; sister, Patricia Campbell; brother in laws, Jerry Turner, Bob Campbell and grandson,Eric Gentry. Tom is survived by his son, Mark Gentry & wife, Sheila, of Carrollton, Kentucky; daughter, Terri & husband Chuck Shaffer,of Christiansburg, Virginia; daughter, Toni & husband, Bill Bunkley of Tampa, Florida and previous wife & friend Evella Grace Gentry. Grandchildren Ryan & Erica Gentry, Chris Gentry, Ashley Gentry, Allison Gentry, Angela Gentry, Lindsey & Matt Paradiso, Bryan Shaffer, Jenny Shaffer & Zachary Bunkley and two greatgrandchildren, Levi & Madison Grace. Tom is also survived by his siblings Barbara Turner of Ft Myers, Florida; Jim Gentry of Birmingham, Alabama; Bob Gentry & wife Fran, of Pace, Florida; Dorothy Fazio & husband Dick, of Grass Valley, California and John Gentry & wife Terri, of Nashville, Tennessee.

Tom was born and raised in Muncie, Indiana and attended Muncie Central High School. After high school, Tom joined the Air Force culmimating his service with a tour in Turkey. He then returned to Muncie and attended Ball State University. Tom worked many years in banking both in Muncie and Indianpolis, finishing his career in the insurance business in Florida. Tom enjoyed golf, both watching but especially playing it, along with all sports. Tom also loved to make people smile & entertain, with his barotone voice at any karyoke the song "My Way". Tom will be greatly missed but will be honored with his family & friends at the VA Bushnell National Cemetary in Bushnell, Florida on Friday, June 5, 2015.
