peacefully at home on Nov.10,2018, three weeks after
celebrating her 100th birthday. Born in Cornelia, GA
Oct 24,1918, she was married to Marion "Buck"
Moorman for 51 years. They had one son, J Marion
Moorman III. In 1949 the family moved from
Columbia, SC to Winter Haven. Vicki and Buck
started the Laundry Center in downtown Winter Haven,
which she operated until the early '70s. She was a charter
member of Parkland Baptist Church, and she was active in
Elks Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Bouquet Garden Club.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf, football, and reading.
Hosting a Danish high school exchange student 1960-61
was a great pleasure for her and sparked her travels to
various parts of the U.S. and Europe. Most of all, Vicki is
remembered as someone who was always there to
help others and was like a "second mom" to her son's
friends and to her nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her parents, Naomi and Edgar Crowson,
and her brother, Donald T. Crowson. She is survived by
her son, J Marion Moorman, (daughter-in-law, Carole),
two grandchildren: Jason Moorman (wife, Madeline) of
Milwaukee, WI, and Erin Phillips (husband, Brad) of
Highlands, NC, and three great-grandchildren: Peyton,
Piper, and Madelynne, and an extended family of
beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 17 at Parkland Baptist Church,
Winter Haven, from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
