June 1, 1924 – December 28, 2019
Antoinette Shehee, 95, of Winter Park, Florida passed away on December 28, 2019. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 1, 1924 to the late Charles & Antoinette (Sluka) Zavadil.
She was kind and she was sharp, beginning work with the Department of the Defense on October 18, 1943, proudly serving with the Navy for over 50 years - retired May 31, 1997 at age 73.
She found her beloved James "Jimmy" Shehee and married him on February 15, 1947. Antoinette would always dressed beautifully, and they loved to go out dancing. They moved to the Orlando area in 1957 and she has lived in the same house ever since. Jimmy passed away on March 1, 1994 after 47 years together.
Antoinette remained active in the Elks Lodge of Winter Park, where she served as President of the Does. She also served in her beloved church, St. Margaret Mary; and, of course faithfully continued work with the federal government.
She received the unexpected blessing of a new relationship later in 1994 with Charles Klotz, who became her dear companion until his passing on May 4, 2008.
While she did not bear her own children, a close family relationship with Perrott Family brought a loving bunch of "adopted" nieces and nephews who lovingly called her "Aunt Toni". Her God-daughter, Debbie McAfee, and her own children delighted in Antoinette, and Debbie became her tender caretaker for many years.
Antoinette had the selfless gift of joy and wore a smile on her face every day of her life.
