

Arthur Kew, 69, of Maitland passed away on May 5, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of 37 years; his daughters Jennifer (Jason) Cravener of Orlando, FL; Chelsea (Greg) Mitchell of Longwood, FL; and Ashley Kew of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Iyden and Bryn Mitchell, Jake and Rachel Cravener, and his beloved cats, Taz and JR. Art was born on October 12, 1947, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from Winter Park High School in 1965 and received his Bachelor's degree in History from Florida Technological University (now known as UCF). Art spent his career in construction and was a member of the Carpenter's Union local 1765. He retired in 2010. After retirement, he volunteered as a Docent at the Winter Park Historical Museum. He had a passion for sports, especially the Miami Dolphins and the Orlando Magic. An avid reader, Art read hundreds of books, especially those in the sci-fi/fantasy genres. His love of and devotion to his family was immeasurable. He was a selfless human being who always put others before himself. We will forever miss his calming presence and gentle soul. Friends and relatives are invited to attend services to honor and celebrate his life at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home at 7520 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792 on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Gathering will begin at 2:30pm. Per Art, "No suits, no ties, no fancy clothes..." In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Orlando Humane Society-SPCA of Central Florida or the Winter Park Historical Museum.
