Bernice Margaret Morgan, 92, passed away on July 6, 2020, after a long life fought hard and lived well. She is preceded by her husband, Bob, both parents, 3 brothers, and 6 sisters. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Karen Grim, and cherished grandson, John.
Born May 12, 1928, in Charleston, West Virginia, she married Bob Morgan in New Jersey, then moved to Orlando to build a small family. When her husband passed all too soon, her strong will and self reliance helped her continue raising her daughter as a single mother. She remained generous throughout her life, never met a stranger, and devoted time and resources wherever she felt they were needed. When her siblings and spouses became unable to care for themselves, she was their sole caregiver. Her lifelong love of baseball, traveling, and family continued even with limited mobility; she vacationed with her daughter Karen until it became impossible. Even then, she was unsatisfied unless Karen brought her tokens and stories of her, and her grandson's, latest adventures. Bernice will be fondly remembered for her forthright tongue, sense of humor, and refusal to surrender to circumstance. She will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 12th at 1PM at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, Florida. Bernice would want no fuss to be made over her passing, and in that spirit, any donation to charity in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
