

Betty Anderson Maples, born on May 22, 1936, in Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 89 in Orlando, Florida. Betty graduated from Sevier County High School in 1954. She also attended Carson Newman College and studied early childhood education. She was married to Robert Lee Maples Jr. on December 27, 1956.
Betty cared for children the majority of her working life in pre-elementary education for the Maples Children Center. When she wasn't working Betty enjoyed painting, gardening, bible study, and doing crafts. She was a member of the Orlando Garden Club and College Park Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her children, Robin Maples Davis (Richard), Patti Maples Nordin (Tom), and Jon Anderson Maples (Kathy); grandchildren, Camden Nordin (Heather), Elizabeth Davis, Kaylee Nordin Gierke (Jeff), Kristina Maples, Mason Maples (Savannah), Katherine Davis Candela (Hunter), and Kelsey Maples Arevalo (Crisitian); great-grandchildren, Nash Nordin, Knox Nordin, Everelee Arevalo, and Truett Candela.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, James Montgomery Anderson and Edith Cannon Anderson; siblings, Alyne Miller Bridges, Sue Miller Grodeman, Marcell Miller Ford, Lucille Miller Hardin, Mary Jo Anderson Creswell, Jean Anderson Laing, Jenny Anderson Bohanan Moody, Nancy Anderson Bohanan, and James Montgomery Anderson Jr.
Services for Betty will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Church on the Drive (1914 Edgewater Dr, Orlando, FL 32804). A visitation will start at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Betty will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Park (2300 Temple Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789) on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
