Betty Jean Elson Sandhagen, 93, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018. Betty was born on November 4, 1924, to the late Ira and Allene (DeVore) Elson in Lexington, Illinois. She had an older brother and stepsister and a younger sister and brother. She grew up in Loda, Illinois, graduating from Loda High School and married Raymond C. Sandhagen on November 24, 1944. They lived in Paxton, Illinois and moved to Pompano Beach, Florida in 1954 where they lived for 45 years before moving to Kissimmee, Florida. They were married for 55 years at the time of his death in 1999. Betty moved to Orlando in 2013 where she was a resident of Westminster Towers at the time of her death. Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church of Orlando.
Betty is survived by her younger brother, William Elson of Chiefland, Florida; her sons Phillip (Laurie) Sandhagen of Smyrna, Georgia; Ray (Betty) Sandhagen of Winter Park, Florida; grandchildren Jenny Nickell, Noelle Browning and Greg Sandhagen along with 5 great grandchildren.
