Born in Orlando on February 5, 1989, Cameron grew up in Central Florida before attending school in Tallahassee. He was a man who truly never met a stranger. He lived life with a wide-open heart, making friends everywhere he went, across all walks of life. He was the guy who constantly checked in, celebrated your wins, and genuinely cared about how you were doing. Even though it’s not in the Guinness Book of World Records, his family is almost positive he held the record for the most weddings attended. He was simply everyone’s friend.
Professionally, Cameron was a dedicated insurance agent. He was deeply passionate about providing families with financial security during their darkest hours. His career was driven by a profound empathy for others.
When he wasn’t looking out for his clients, Cameron was enthusiastically pursuing his favorite pastimes. He loved the game of soccer, both as a player and a die-hard fan. He lived and breathed Manchester United and the US National team, a passion that took him and his family on unforgettable adventures to FIFA World Cups around the globe, with plans in motion to attend his sixth World Cup this summer. He proudly embraced his inner nerd, whether he was playing video games or gathering with the local community for Pokémon GO meet-ups. Recently, he picked up golf, always excited to hit the fairway any chance he got (along with the occasional attempt at a Happy Gilmore shot off the tee). Cameron brought an infectious energy to everything he did, always making everyone laugh and smile with his eye-rolling "dad jokes."
Cameron is survived by his loving parents, Tom and Jacque Cook; his sister, Chloe Cook Scipio, and her husband, Tanner Scipio; and an overwhelming number of friends who will miss his warmth, his humor, and his random phone calls. He was preceded in death by his beloved and loyal companion, his dog, Tyson, who undoubtedly greeted him with a toy and a wagging tail.
Celebration of Life information will be shared by the family at a later date.
