

Charles Bartholomew Flynn, passed away at home on January 27, 2011. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 31, 1934 to Gerald I and Mary Crowley Flynn. He graduated from Milton Academy in 1952 and Harvard University in 1956. As Captain of the Harvard hockey team, he was an All-American and is in the Harvard Athletic Hall of Fame. He moved to Winter Park, Florida in 1960 for business reasons and ultimately founded Charles B. Flynn & Co, Inc, selling architectural specialties. He coached Little League baseball for many years. He enjoyed tennis, deep sea fishing, reading and, most of all, being with family and friends. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Martha and Bill Peterson of Nichols, IA, John and Jill Flynn of Hillsborough, CA, Gerry and Susie Flynn of Los Angeles, CA, and Peter and Suzanne Flynn of Herndon, VA; his five children and their spouses: Bonnie and Randy McAdams of Raleigh, NC, Charlie and Jeannine Flynn of Scappoose, OR, Peter and Kiki Flynn of St Petersburg, FL, Bob and Laura Flynn of Nashville, TN and Jennifer and Mike Zell of Seattle, WA; twelve grandchildren; ten nieces and nephews; and countless others he treated as his own. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home, 1350 Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winter Park Public Library, 460 E New England Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789.
