March 14, 1938July 19, 2018

We celebrate the life of Domenic P. Guerriero for many reasons.

For his family that he loved so much: His wife Ann, daughter Lisa, sons Richard & Marc, grandsons Evan & Eric and all of his siblings, in-laws and friends.

Domenic was a graduate of the Naval Academy, received his Master's degree from Boston University and proudly served his country for over 20 years. Among his decorations, he was awarded the Bronze Star with combat “V”, Joint Service Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Antarctica Service Medal, Com 7th Fleet Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 2 stars, Republic of Vietnam Staff Medal 1st Class, Republic of Vietnam Distinguished Sailor Award 2nd class.

Most notably, in his civilian career, "Dom" served as an executive for General Mills (Darden) Restaurants as National Director of Logistics. After his career with GM, he consulted on a number of logistic projects which included: relocating and managing the U.S. Navy’s underwater sound reference laboratory from Orlando, Florida to Newport, Rhode Island and coordinating disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina.

He gave of his time and talent freely as a volunteer with the Red Cross, the Orange County Florida Voter’s Registration Office, The Veteran’s Administration and Orange County School Board.

He was a cherished family member, true patriot and valued member of his community. He was deeply loved, and will be missed by many.

A celebration of life in Orlando and a military funeral at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced at a later date.

I remember right before Dad left for Vietnam, our entire family was in the living room, waiting our turns for his cassette recorder interview. He took those recorded conversations with him overseas to replay the memories of good times and family. He sent tapes back to us which reassured and comforted us during his long absence. I didn’t really understand why he had to be away for so long but it sure was nice to hear his voice every so often.

Growing up, I thought my Dad was the greatest breakfast chef ever. He made award winning cheese eggs and fancy pancakes with smiley faces on them!

Dad could build anything in his wood shop! Many of his creations have graced my home over the years, like a light table, tile press and the most amazing little pine end table.

I’ve been thinking lately, about all the lives that he touched and had such a deep impact on. Like his wife and children that he cared for, mentored and provided for. Like the friends that he brought laughter, entertainment and good company to. And Like the total strangers whose lives he enriched through his volunteer work.

I feel so proud and honored to have had Domenic Guerriero as my father. I will miss him but I will always have those warm memories of him as a comfort. I know in my heart that he is at peace.

Papi was a loving and caring grandfather, as well as a great role model. I will always remember him for his quick wit, humor, and the advice he has given me over the years. Some of my fondest memories with Papi are from the Christmases we all spent together in Orlando as a family. I remember dying of laughter the time we played Ellen DeGeneres's app, "Heads Up," and always bragging to him after I "took him to the cleaners" playing cards.

Papi, we all love and miss you so very much and think of you all the time. I will always be grateful that you were there for my high school graduation, and for the rest of the time I was able to spend with you. Lots of love.

What stands out for me is Dom's love for Ann and his family,
and the example he set for his friends on how to live this life.
As Robert Louis Stevenson said..." who looked for the best
in others and gave the best he had "...
Dom gave the gift of a friendship never to be forgotten, times
to be remembered with joy and laughter... He made the
best bread and patiently tried to teach me a little Italian...
So I say :
Grazie per tutti i ricordi - Thanks for all the memories...
Godspeed amico mio - Godspeed my friend...
Riposare in pace - Rest in peace...

My brother Dom was a kind, gentle and generous spirit. He was always quick with a smile and his willingness to offer love and support. Dom's love and pride for his wife, Ann, and his children Lisa, Richard and Marc and his grandsons, Evan and Eric knew no bounds. One of my fondest memories is of visiting my brother and his family in Italy. Dom and Ann always planned new adventures for us. They took us down the coast of Italy to Reggio Calabria where we took a ferry across the Mediterranean to Sicily. The sight of automobiles driving onto the ferry was a new experience for me.It was my first camping trip, and my last! But we took the funicular up Mt. Etna and visited other historical sites. I will always hold the memories I made with my brother close to my heart and I will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to see him and hug him one last time. Rest in peace my beloved brother

My dear friend Dom will be remembered for so many contributions in this life, but to me, most of all for his everyday smile, quick humor, cunning at cards and crafty skill at "dirty marbles". I only met Dom about 20 years ago, yet I feel like I've always known him. My favorite memory of Dom was on our Alaskan cruise when we went white-water rafting at Denali National Park. Dom in his waterproof suit looked much like the "Michelin Man"! He was such a "kick" to be with anytime! I will miss him so much, as will all his family and friends! But, warm memories will always be my comfort, as they will for all of us. Rest In Peace Dear Friend. You will be dearly missed and always remembered!

He was so much fun to be around. Happy, joking and enjoying friendship . He brought joy to his friends and was so caring and loving to his wife Ann. A truly good man. Joyful and caring. Living life to the fullest. Always looking forward to his place for summer vacation and cooler temperatures. Generous in his spirit to fill others with laughter and joy. Such a shock when I received the news . Dom was a wonderful, giving man who never had a harsh word about anyone. He had a dry sense of humor and I loved him very much. He was dedicated to his family and will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers to my cousin, Ann and Lisa and her husband and children, Richard and Bill and Marc❤️ We will cherish our memories through the years. May Dom Rest in Peace🙏

Bren a & I met Dom and Ann a few years ago in Wells Maine, thru my brother-in- law, who was also an Academy Graduate. Dom and I communicated weekly thru e-mail, discussing our countries needs and politics. I was always humored by Don's wit and will miss communicating with him. Our thoughts and prayers go to Ann and the family at this trying time.

The Dom that I knew was a very quiet and kind man. He reminded me so much of my husband Jim.
Dom Loved Ann to the "moon and back" - that is the selfless man I knew. Rest is peace Dom, you truly will be missed by all of us who knew you.
