Dorothy Mae Wendorf was born on May 24, 1924 in Milton, the daughter of Richard and Meta (nee Probst) Wendorf. She was a May 29, 1942 graduate of Johnson Creek High School. She was united in marriage to Carl H. Becker at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown on September 3, 1954. Dorothy, along with her husband, owned and operated Becker’s TV and Radio in downtown Watertown followed by Carl’s TV in Maitland, Florida. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. She enjoyed Time of Grace Ministries, travelling, reading, and crocheting. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was so important to her.
She is survived by her children, Juanita Becker of New Berlin and Sylvia (George) Payette of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Anneliese (Joe) Gumm, Alex (Stephanie) Spier and Aric Spier; great-grandchildren, Benj Gumm, Evie Gumm, Aaron Gumm, and Ellie Spier; another soon-to-be great-grandchild; brother, Larry (Nancy) Wendorf; sister-in-law, Carolyn Wendorf as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Wayne Wendorf, two sisters, Phyllis Hollenbeck and Elaine Finn, and two brothers in infancy, Glenn and Dickie Wendorf.
Memorials may be made to Luther Preparatory School (Music Auditorium Fund), St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Meritt Island, Florida. Visitation and viewing will take place Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2:30-4:00 pm at the Baldwin-Fairchild Goldenrod/Winter Park Chapel (7520 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32792). Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park (2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32789).
