Edith Ruth Tyree was born March 18, 1925 in Joplin, Missouri to Elmer and Gertrude (Sharkey) Tyree. On January 5, 1946 Edith married Gordon Anderson. They raised two sons Raymond, and Gordon Jr (Edward).
Edith was a wonderful homemaker, and instrumental in the success of the family’s apartment business. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Coral Gables, and First United Methodist church in Kissimmee. Edith enjoyed volunteering for many years at Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee. She is fondly remembered by church members and friends alike for her gracious hospitality and joyous spirit that made everyone welcome.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, and survived by her sons Raymond (Peggy Anderson) and Edward (Rhonda Anderson), sister Catherine Manning, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
No funeral service is planned. A private interment with the family will be held at Bushnell National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations can be made to Give Kids the World Village.
