Edna "Louise" Soles

Edna Louise Soles passed peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on September 19, 1943, in Tuckasegee, North Carolina, she lived a life defined by dedication, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. After leaving Tuckasegee, she called Orlando, Florida home.

Louise was a proud graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, North Carolina. She devoted more than 35 years of her professional life to Travelers Insurance, where she served as a respected supervisor in the Commercial Accounts Department. Her career was a source of great pride, reflecting her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Beyond her work, Louise embraced life with joy and love. She had a passion for traveling and found peace in nature’s simple pleasures; flowers in bloom, time spent gardening, and the quiet beauty of the outdoors. In her youth, she shared her love of music by playing the piano for youth choirs in Jackson County, North Carolina, a gift that brought comfort and inspiration to many.

Louise was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mamie Wiggins and Walter Francis Sims; her brother, Louie Sims; and her sister, Dorothy Dietz.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her devoted daughter and only child, Kimberly Yzquierdo; her cherished siblings, Gail Kling, Juanita Burrell, Willis Sims, and Calvin Sims; her grandchildren, Amanda Yzquierdo (Ryan) and James Yzquierdo; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Nevaeha, Carter, Arabella, Juliet, Abigail, Adeline, and Austin.

Louise lived a beautiful and full life, touching all who knew her with her kindness and spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Windy Gap Baptist Church in Franklin, North Carolina. A Reception will follow immediately after the service. Interment will follow at Addie Cemetery in Sylva, North Carolina
