Edward Thorton Bowes

Edward Bowes of Volusia County passed on Saturday 01/10/2016 of natural causes, surrounded by his children; he was 81. Edward was born in Fitchburg, MA in 1934; his parents moved to New York City in 1938, where he was raised on Staten Island; he served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lester and later resided in New York, NY, Albuquerque, NM and Central Florida. As a resident of Central Florida since 1985, he enjoyed working at Jordan Marsh (the old Colonial Plaza) and later Disney. His greatest loves were his naval service, music (in particular The Beatles), electronics & radio, anything & everything Disney and his family. His only brother, Malcolm, passed in 2008 and his wife, Mary, passed in 2010. He is survived by his 4 children, Margaret, John, Edward, Jeanmarie, his adopted son, William, as well as 5 step-children from his late wife, Mary. He leaves a legacy of well over 10 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edward will be greatly missed.
