Elizabeth Louise McKechnie born in Portlock, Canada on June 17th 1924 went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 21st 2021. Known to her family and friends as “Betty” in her early years she lived with her grandparents in a “Wizard of Oz” working farm setting with her younger sister Lois. After high school she moved to Detroit to reunite with her mother, Elizabeth, and her beloved stepdad, Rene Angell. It was also in Detroit where she graduated from Grace College School of Nursing. After graduation she moved to San Diego to be with family, start a new nursing career, and meet the future love of her life, U.S. Marine Paul E. Greenlee. They were married in San Diego on March 17th, 1948. Due to Paul's service in the Marine Corp they lived in many locations across this nation until finally settling down in Orlando, Florida in 1967. Betty continued her nursing career and was one of the first nurses hired at the then newly constructed Walt Disney World. After the death of her husband, Elizabeth continued to live in Orlando through the remainder of her life. She is preceded in death by her oldest daughter Treva Briggs, survived by sons Paul Jr., Kirby, Leslie, and daughter Kathleen. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Thinking about Betty always brings a smile to our hearts. She was so much fun to be around. With her wit, her charm, and her beauty, I can see why Paul fell head over heels in love with her! Her beauty was on the inside, as well as the outside, and she was such a sweet gift to our family. 97 years, what a blessing!
We will miss her, but know that she is happy and rejoicing seeing those that have went on ahead. We are lifting each of you up as you go through this hard time. Your mother is not gone...she just went on ahead and will be at the gate, waiting to welcome you home.
Love you all, Don, Julane, and family

Betty has been my Mother-In-Law for the past 49 years. She was one of the hardest working women I have ever known. We had a lot of good times together and I consider her a friend.
One time in Tijuana Mexico the men went golfing and they dropped us off in town for 8 hours with 4 young children. Before they picked us up I talked Betty into having a Margarita. She said that it was the best drink she ever had as she was putting perfume on her tongue to hid it from Paul Sr.
We had fun together and I will miss her.
Love you Betty,
Carolyn
