Born on February 25, 1931, to Easter Ellen Huls Lamkin and August Irvin Lamkin who preceded her in
death. She was the oldest of three children, sister Dorothy Lamkin and brother James Lamkin also both
deceased.
Marlene was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother. She
gave her heart and time to all, always listening with an open heart and mind free from any judgement
and the best bear hugs you could get. She was the rock in her family’s lives. Family meant everything to
her and she showed it every time she saw us. We are all better people for having her bless our lives. We
know she will always be watching over her family and loved ones.
Evelyn Marlene Roome was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Roome of 49 years, and is survived
by three daughters; Carol Hyde (Bob), Gail Lyford (Jim), and Kathy Grimes (Gary); 8 Grandchildren, 25
Great grandchildren, and 21 Great, great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place at Baldwin Funeral Home, 7520 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, FL on
September 8, 2025 at 1pm.
