Frances Woodward Berry passed away on June 24,2026. She was born in Aiken, South Carolina on December 24, 1917, to Ethel Marie and Davis Ashley Woodward. Frances attended Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She also attended the Duke University School of Nursing where she met her husband of 63 years, Dr. Courtlandt Berry, who predeceased her in 2004. During those 63 years, Frances’ life was highlighted by adventure, travel and educational experiences.
A devoted mother and wife, Frances’ heart was her home, family and friends. She was an exceptional homemaker and held a variety of recreational and social interests. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, the Junior League, the Rosalind Club, and the Town Club of Winter Park.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Ellars of Winter Park and Highlands NC and Donna Santo (James) of Ocala; four grandchildren, Ashley Wintner, Courtney McGowan (James), Miles Wolbe (Koko) and Courtlandt Wolbe (Melissa) and six great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at Palm Cemetery, 1005 N New York Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789, on July 1, 2026, at 11:00 am.
