Gary Robert Planck, J.D., 86, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. He was born in Pekin, Illinois, on February 11, 1939. Planck holds a BS from Illinois State University, MS from the University of Wisconsin, and JD from Washington University in St. Louis.
He was married to Carolyn Roberts on June 29, 1968. He was admitted to the bar in 1974, practiced law in Florida, and retired as a partner of Kane, Singer, Planck, Donoghue, Clark & Mixson. For almost four decades as a Lincoln Scholar, he published Lincoln articles and reviews in various national magazines and newspapers. His book, The Lincoln Assassination’s Forgotten Investigator: A. C. Richards, was published by Lincoln Memorial University Press in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Planck; brother, J. Kent Planck; niece, Stephanie Planck Skidmore, her husband, Jim, and their daughters Amanda and Jessica; and, nephew Jeffrey Planck, his wife, Jaime, and their daughters Jenna and Juliana.
Funeral services will be private.
