On July 2, 2021, Gene B Higgs passed away peacefully. Gene was born March 2, 1941 in Tampa, FL. He met the love of his life in high school, Kathleen Roberts. They were married 60 years and had 4 beautiful daughters: Sharon, Sheila, Sheryl and Shannon; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Their marriage brought them from Tampa to Orlando where Gene touched the lives of many. Gene proudly served in The United States Marine Corps, worked at Industrial Supply then Orange County Public Schools and was respected by all. Even in retirement, he continued to work in fellowship at Church of The Messiah and St Matthews Episcopal Church. Being no stranger to hardship, he exhibited endurance and hard work if every aspect of his life . His outward joy and thirst for righteousness were nothing short of inspirational . His life of faithfulness, gentleness and love impacted those around him. Those fortunate enough to know him were changed for the better , Gene was a friend to all, a man of God and will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 14, 2021 at the Elks Lodge in Winter Garden, FL
