

Jahn, George N., 89, of Winter Park, FL, died Thursday, March 2, 2012 at Atria of Lake Forest. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Joseph. Mr. Jahn is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances Ann, his sister, Virginia Sofranik (Orlando), daughters, Lorraine Jahn (Tampa) and Valerie Grandin (Orlando), and son, George A. Jahn (Delray). He raised three lawyers, and also leaves behind four grandchildren, Melissa, Gena, Chloe, and Chrissy, and 4 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Wesley, Taylor, and Everly. Mr. Jahn played football for the University of Miami and nobly Captained a B-17 during WW II with forays into Italy and Germany. A proud graduate of the University of Miami School of Law and Justice of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Prior to retiring, Mr. Jahn was a pre-eminent real estate law practitioner in Miami and Orlando. He will long be remembered for his contribution to Florida Real Property law as one of the drafter’s of Florida’s first Mechanic’s Lien Law and the Florida Bar Sales Contract. He represented developers in Miami and Central Florida on major commercial and residential projects. Mr. Jahn loved the Miami Hurricanes, tennis, tenors, Mario Lanza, Pavarotti, and Bocelli, and was a gifted stained glass artist. The family will meet guests at a memorial/visitation on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 5-8 pm at the Carey-Hand Cox Parker Funeral Home, 1350 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park, FL. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9 am on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 526 N. Park Ave., Winter Park, FL. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, 3260 SW 8th St. Miami, FL, on March 7, 2012 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the George N.
