Harold was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he continued to protect and serve his community as a security guard for Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), a role he held with honor and commitment for over 28 years.
Harold was survived by his wife and soulmate, Yolanda Mosquera. He is also survived by his children, Amber Burtis , Brandy Burtis and Michael Burtis; his stepchildren, Julio Franco, Lina Franco, George Franco, Evelyn Black and Maribel Lent; his grandchildren, Mierah Burtis and Truman Loos; his step-grandchildren, Justin Franco, Cayden Franco, Melissa Falla, George Franco Jr., Brianna Franco, Brenda Franco, Gabriel Franco, Michael Black, Nathan Black, Sophia Black, Cassandra Lent, Angelina Lent, Nicholas Lent and Elizabeth Lent; his great-grandchildren Giana Rose and Liam Michael; and his sister, Gloria Harteis. He was predeceased by his parents, William Burtis and Anna Kelly; his siblings, Chuck Martin, Richard Martin, Don Burtis, Phyllis Burtis and Gerald Burtis; his son Daniel Burtis; and his step-granddaughter, Vanessa Franco.
Harold will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his love for his family, and his strong sense of duty. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
