Irene Davich, 92, a sixty-year resident of Winter Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on December 7, 1924 to the late Yakim and Catherine (Bandrowsky) Yacynych, she was the fifth of eight children. Irene married Michael Davich in August 1944 in Pensacola where he was training to be a United States Navy aviator. During his naval flight training, the couple traveled extensively throughout the state, from Pensacola to Key West and as a result, both fell in love with Florida. In 1957, they moved to Winter Park from Baltimore, Maryland when Michael was transferred to Orlando by The Glenn L. Martin Company (now Lockheed Martin). Irene was a devoted homemaker, a member of the Marlando Club, and an early member of the Maitland Cotillion. As a committed Christian, Irene was a member of the congregation of All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park, and was an enthusiastic participant in the church Altar Guild.

She is survived by daughter Diane Thurbon, son David Davich, grandchildren Kristen Tight, Milan Davich, Anna Lohr, Courtney Morin, David William Davich, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Walter and James Yacynych, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Michael, son Douglas Davich, sisters Anna Hipp and Mary Cononie, and brothers Paul, Stephen and Jack Yacynych.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to All Saints Episcopal Church, 338 E. Lyman Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789.
