Israel "Chago" Santiago Montes age 89, of Groveland and formerly of Winter Park, passed away March 14, 2015. He was born June 20, 1925 in New York. Israel was a devoted family man and friend to all he met. He a Marine veteran who served in Okinawa during WWII. He was a former detective in Chicago as well as a former member of the Orange County Sheriff's Department. He is survived by his wife Martha; his 91 year old cousin Ramon Santiago Quirindongo; as well as his extended family and friends.
