What a great man and friend, and this comes from a saddened soul who has known him merely as a customer of over 15 years. (I.e., I've only ever met with him at his work, and learned of this great loss from his staff after he'd passed.)

One typical memory (of his many other acts of kindness) is how I had called and tried to get there on a Saturday before the pharmacy closed. Per Murphy's law, my cell phone died, and I remember it being one of the last times I ever sought a pay phone/phone booth. (I've since given up such quests.)

I got there too late, and he'd closed up and gone home (only after attempting to contact me.) 

So I went home, got  his message, and left a message with the answering service or machine. The Rx was for some fever or such (I forget) and he instantly called me back and said "Don't worry, I'll meet you there at 1.30p," and I there and then received the not able to be postponed RX.

As I type this, my mind's eye sees and misses him and I pray, (but doubt), that my life might ultimately come close to being as good as his was to all.

He was, as my beloved father would have said, 'A Class-Act Guy.'

My heartfelt love and prayers go out to all who feel this loss, and particularly to his family and loved ones.

The entire Bill Pope family send our love and prayers to all of John and Jane's children, grandchildren and extended family members.  
We can't imagine what life will be like without John keeping us up-to-date on what's happening in Orlando and especially at North Park.
We have spent many, many hours with the Davies family, especially in their back yard and John pulling all the kids on the back of their boat on water skiis.
John was one of the kindest and most compassionate gentlemen we knew.  He was such an inspiration to our entire family.  His influence towards missions is being felt even today as Billy and Mary are currently in Albania on a mission trip from their church in Georgia.  They regret not being here for the funeral, but certainly would be here if they were in the states.
One of our fondest memories was the "Birthday bashes" held in January each year in honor of John, Dr. Bob Kersten, Milton Martin and my Bill.  Milt was the first to go and my Bill passed away in 2014.  All were January "babies."  Dr. "K" is the last of the "Big Four" to keep the flame burning!  We didn't need too much of an excuse to have a party at the Davies home, which was always great fun.  They were such a great host and hostess.  
Only God in Heaven knows the far reaches of John's Christian ministry.  North Park has certainly benefited from his financial expertise and the many roles in which he served as God's Servant.
John has always been "our Pharmacist."  Even after we moved to Lake County,  we continued with John, even if it meant driving back to Orlando to deal with him.  We knew we could always trust him and his staff to provide the best and safest service.
We will all truly miss him!  He and Jane were two of our best friends.  There is never any doubt they are with Jesus in Heaven.

Orlando has not had a finer pharmacist than John! I have worked with him for years as a physician since 1978 as well as patron of his first class pharmacy and there will be few that could follow in his footsteps. He will be dearly missed by me and many of my patients.

I met Mr.Davies several years ago. He had vacant offices in his building and I was able to help him lease them. After meeting him  I started to stop  by now and then to chat. He was a kind,cheerful man who always had an amusing little something to say.  I loved stepping into his office which was the small white table and two chairs by the vending machine.. I worked with John as a fellow board member of a business in Tallahassee. He was the voice of reason whenever difficult situations occurred. Even though he was much older than all of us on the board, he was as sharp, attentive, insightful and respectful as any of us. When he spoke, which was rarely, all of us leaned in to hear his words of wisdom. He never  panicked and never showed any sign of fear or anger. He was a Godly man and one we all aspire to be. His faith in mankind was enormous. He gave us all confidence in ourselves and our work. I can tell you that all Florida Pharmacists have benefited from his leadership. I know that he is now happy to be with his beloved Jane, and that gives me comfort.

John was a great Christian man! Such a wonderful role model to many. He was a cornerstone of North Park and will be deeply missed

Mr. Davies was in our Friday morning men's Bible study for years.  He was a father figure to us.  He was a leader, role model, advisor, and friend.  So sad about his passing.  Will miss him deeply.

My grandmother, Julia Hilton, lived next door to the pharmacy....now a parking lot and medical building. Your father took such good care of not only my grandmother, but my parents, the Barfields and my family, the Smiths.  When I was a child, I often had the pleasure of taking your dad lunch which was the best plate of country cooking one could ask for.  Words cannot express how grateful we are for your dad and his kind and caring spirit . Our hearts go out to your family.

I remember John as our pharmacist and the deacon in my mom's church. He always had a smile for us whenever I would see him. He helped me a lot in his medical knowledge and when my mom passed away. He will be missed by all his customers.

I'm so saddened to hear of Mr. Davies passing.  However, I am certain that his family is confident in that fact that he is now in Heaven with his Savior, Jesus, and his beloved wife and his daughter, as well.  

Mr. Davies was a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold.  He exhibited a love for others in everything he did.  My most fond memories are of him teaching me how to water ski.  A selfless man, who often gave of his precious personal time to help make weekends fun for loads of teens!  Danny, Johnny, Sue, and Billy, I'm so sorry for your loss and feel sick to my stomach, that another great family friend is no longer here.  I will be keeping you in my prayers for weeks on end, as you once again, go through the grieving process. I've always been so fond of Mr. Davies.  He was a kind, gentle man who was a strong Christian influence on me and all whom he met.  He was always willing to sacrifice his time and energies to help others.   Growing up, he'd spend his Sunday afternoons with a house full of teens and kids... taking many turns, pulling them around his lake to ski.  I love his whole family very much and am so sad for them, that now, their dad is gone too.  I know they're confident that he's in heaven with Mrs. Davies and Mary Jane, and that he's happy being with his Savior, as well.  We'll miss you, Mr. Davies.  :(   Love, Dawn Odom Lafferty

John was the consummate southern gentleman.  Solid of stature, kind of heart, with a silent but commanding presence till the very end.  I never spoke with him without feeling that he really listened to every word I said.  He will be sorely missed.
