Jon Carl Yergler, age 64 of Winter Park, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born February 6, 1954 in Watseka, Illinois. He graduated from Wheaton College (IL) in 1976 and Duke University Law School in 1979.
He married his wife, Kathleen Rook Yergler, on January 15, 1983. He is survived by his wife; son, Jonathan; daughter, Kathryn; siblings, Rita, Rodney, Daryle, Ruth, and Audrey; and sister-in-law, Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Evelyn Yergler.
Jon was a loving father, husband and friend to many. He was a passionate Chicago Cubs and Orlando Magic fan, an interest he shared with his father, siblings, and kids. He would often be found standing in front of the television, watching their games, and yelling at the referees from afar. Other interests included golfing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Jon was revered as a real estate attorney at Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor, & Reed, PA for 39 years, building strong and lasting relationships with clients, co-workers, and business partners.
His Christian faith was the most important aspect of his life, and he gave all glory for his accomplishments to God above all else. He served as president of the church congregation for 8 years and continued to serve on multiple boards over the years up until his death, always looking for ways to apply his skills in the service of God and those in need.
He was strong in his faith, respected by many, and was an unquestionable inspiration to all those around him. He cared deeply for his family, always being there to support his children in their sports and academic endeavors either from near or from afar. Jon had a very giving heart for all in need and invested heavily in charitable endeavors.
