Karen Anita Collins

Karen Anita Collins was born on February 5, 1960 in Pensacola, Florida to Clarence and Callie Collins (Thomas). She was an avid reader and always had a passion for learning. One of her favorite things to do was pose for the camera and we have found comfort in all of the photos showing a life well lived. She grew up to work in accounting and was very dedicated to her career. She touched countless lives with her humor, authenticity, and straightforward nature. She found humor in every situation and her laugh was unforgettable. She was most happy spending time with family and friends, reading, watching mysteries, or gambling on her yearly trip to Las Vegas with one of her best friends. As a single parent, she was the absolute best mother and provider to her two children from childhood to adulthood. Becoming a grandmother was one of the highlights of her life and she loved the time spent with them, showing off pictures, and repeating their funny sayings. Karen would always have a story for you! Though Karen may no longer be with us, her tremendous love, boisterous laughter, and kindness will remain in our hearts forever.

Karen Collins is survived by her daughter, LaKrystal Warren Gordon (Von Gordon), grandchildren Von Gordon II, Callie Gordon, Bryce Gordon, son Tyler Alexander Payne, sister Ruby Radford (James Radford), sister Linda Thomas (Sinatra Thomas), and brother John Florence (Sylvia Florence), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her love, laughter, and memories.

She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Collins, her mother Callie Thomas, and her brother Joe Florence (Mary).

A visitation for Karen will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 7520 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, FL. 32792. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 7520 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, FL. 32792. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789.
