Margaret “Marge” Ann Kenney, age 82, of Winter Park, FL passed away peacefully at Madison Oviedo on January 25, 2021. Born in Lake Wales, FL Mrs. Kenney was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Stanley. An active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, she was a longtime volunteer and cantor at the church.
With five older brothers and one sister, Marge grew up as a tomboy and loved sports. She was strong, smart, feisty and very independent. She boldly began a career in New Orleans and married the love of her life, Tom Kenney, in 1959. They travelled to naval stations throughout the USA as well as Sicily and the Panama Canal Zone. Marge loved to cook and owned thousands of cookbooks that she read for pleasure. She loved to lead the family in song while on road trips and at the annual Kenney family & friends Christmas sing-a-long. She was a great mother and friend to her four daughters, and a powerful influence on her grandsons and extended family -- serving for many, many years as the bright light at the center of our universe.
On January 25th Marge’s knight in shining armor (Tom in his dress whites) came to escort her to heaven and bring her peace and joy again.
Marge is survived by her loving children, Kathryn (Phil) St. Onge, Susan (Jess) Knowles, Janet Kenney and Leanne (Gary) Kenney-Arwin. She was also a beloved grandmother to Cody (Lora) St. Onge, Brett (Megan) St. Onge, Tyler Kenney, Melissa (Miles) Hart and Alex Arwin.; and a wonderful great grandmother to, Joanna and Alex. Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, on February 4, 2021 at 10:30, 5300 Old Howell Branch Road, Florida 32792
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the ‘staff appreciation fund’ at Madison Oviedo (1725 Pine Bark Point, Oviedo FL 32765) in honor of the family’s gratitude for the tender care provided to Marge Kenney.
