Maria Victoria Chernez, passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2026, in Orlando, Florida at the age of 89. She was born on December 23rd, 1936 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, and grew up in Barrio Collores.
Maria graduated from Ponce High School in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
She worked at La Etna and Pioneer Paper.
She was preceded in death by her son, Julian Martinez Jr.; and daughter, Maribel Rivera.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Jose Otton Chernez; son, Guillermo Martinez; chosen brother, Jose Sanchez; and two daughters, Maritza Muniz and Martha Soto.
Her legacy lives on through her 21 beautiful grandchildren and 11 adored great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all her friends, coworkers, neighbors, caregivers and family near and far for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
