Mary J. Farrington Jakubowski

82 years old of Orlando Passed away February 17 due to complications from surgery. She was predeceased in death by her husband Joseph Marion Jakubowski in 1990 and her son, John Joseph Jakubowski in 1992. Jean was a nurse and served as a Captain in the United States Air Force where she met and married her only husband, Jake. She worked for 25 years at Florida Hospital where she retired as emergency room head nurse in Apopka. Jean was born in New Hampshire but moved to Winter Park in the 1940's. She graduated from Orange Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Jean had a huge love for animals and always had pets fill her home with love. Jean is survived by her daughter, H. Leanne Jakubowski of Orlando and her brother John "Jack" Farrington of Altamonte Springs. A viewing will be held Monday February 20 from 6:00pm-7:30pm and services on Tuesday at 2:00pm at Carey Hand Cox Parker Funeral Home in Winter Park on Fairbanks Avenue.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society or to Hospice.
