Vic, Mark, Michele:  I just learned of Mary's death yesterday quite by coincident, was very sorry to hear about it and wanted to send you my belated condolences.  I always enjoyed Mary's company, admired her feistiness and hard-working ethics.   I'm sorry but I can't really remember if I let you know that sadly Dave died January 26, 2002.

 I will not for get the time . That Mary had me go shripping .
It was my first time , and only . I have never had a nother chace since ,
but will never for get that night.
We set there for hours , and she kept saying that the shrimp will come.
And did they ever . they were so thick in the water . that you could have walked on it , and not got wet.

Dear brother,nephew and niece,Before this day ends,I just wanted to let you know how very much I love you, and wish that you did not have to go through such "pain" today.I have been with you all day in spirit. (could you feel me?) This morning on my walk by the lake, I sat down by the water and reflected on Mary and all of you. I thought of things I could say to make you feel better.I thought of a favorite verse of mine: " we must all take our place in the circle of life... for each one of us has a place which is ours, and ours alone". Mary had hers... and we know you'll miss her love of nature, animals and those less fortunate. So to replace sending flowers, a donation to The Wisconsin Humane Society has been made in Mary's name. So many wonderful memories, from our meager beginnings in Umatilla where she made shirts, (from flour sacks), for me to wear to school to fishing and cooking with her at her cabin in Astor. But the fondest memory of all was when she came to my graduation from High School in Umatilla. That meant more to me than she ever knew. When someone in the family needed help, she was there.  I trust you will all reflect on the great times and be grateful for the relationship you had with her. Thinking of Mary always brought about a great sense of pride. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

I met Mary through the marriage of my son, Christopher, to Michele.  

At that point, she had serious medical problems.  The fact that she attended the wedding functions and other family get-togethers afterwards proved to me that she was a courageous person.  

I remember that she looked lovely in the long blue dress at the marriage ceremony.  I remember her friendliness, manners, patience, and nice conversations, even during her last week.  

I enjoyed knowing Mary for that short time and I sincerely wish we could have gotten to know each other better.  I believe we could have been good friends.  

I am sorry she has passed.  I pray that her family will have peace, love, hope, and many memories of wonderful times together.

Vic, Mark, Michele, & Margaret, as a wife, mother and sister, Mary had a deep regard and dedication to home and family and I'm sure that she was proud of what was achieved in her lifetime in both fields. Dear Uncle Vic, Mark and Michelle,
I have been thinking about all of the wonderful memories of our families spending time together.  The anticipation of your motorhome arriving at our house in NH or the time we would spend at your house.   The camping trip to Boston, where Aunt Mary showed the Bostonians how to put cars up on the curb.  The movies that you would take of trips to the Zoo and then we would go back to the house and watch those movies (forward and in reverse) at my father's request.   Take comfort in all of the memories that make you laugh or smile and let anything else become the past.   
I wish that I could be there to help to comfort you in your time of need.  I will be thinking of you all.  Love always,
