Nancy Jean Fredda-Fredericksen went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 2, 2025. Surrounded by family she peacefully left this world to be reunited with her forever love, Vic. Nancy was born in Galveston, Texas November 26, 1940, to Robert and Ethel Mae Fredericksen. She was welcomed with doting arms by her older brother Jimmy. Soon, to Nancy’s delight, her little sister Janet completed their family. Nancy was raised in a strong Christian family where love was abundant. This was reflected in her faith and displayed in the great kindness she freely gave to others. As Grandparents go, Nancy had some of the best, and she most surely used the wisdom, grace and love they bestowed on her as a guiding light for how she would Grandmother one day. Nancy graduated from Ball High School in 1958. She was very active in many social clubs. She played the Viola in the Ball High Symphony Orchestra and the Galveston Civic Orchestra. She was a member of The National Honor Society and Drama Club. Nancy, with great pride, was Worthy Advisor as well as State Officer for The Scottish Rite Order of Rainbow for Girls.
In 1955 her brother Jimmy brought his US Naval Academy roommate, Vic Fredda, home for a visit. The rest, as they say, is history. Nancy and Vic we’re married in July of 1959, and she began her adventures as a military wife. They moved first to Norfolk, Virginia. Coming from a small hometown and a very close family, this had to be taxing on Nancy, but she kept her faith strong and her smile bright. She knew that Vic was her home. In 1962 they welcomed a son, Daniel. In 1964, they were blessed with their daughter, Amy.
1981 brought them to Orlando, FL. Nancy thought it wasn’t for long. She would have gotten a bigger kitchen (as we were frequently reminded) but this was where the Lord was ready for them to lay down roots. And so, Nancy started going to worship at Aloma United Methodist Church. Through the many years Nancy was active in the church she was in the Choir, she taught Vacation Bible School, ran many of craft fairs, mission trips and too much more to begin to mention. But above all, Nancy was a mentor and a friend. And she was always a wonderful disciple of Jesus.
Nancy loved her friends, her siblings and her family deeply. She loved to entertain guests. She loved to get dressed up. She loved shoes, purses, jewelry, shopping- which she sometimes did with a credit card (that Vic referred to as her Samurai sword- because it would always draw blood)
She was a kind and generous woman who made everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. As a wife she was an inspiration. As a mother she was caring and fiercely devoted. As a grandmother she was a pillar of faith and hope and so much love. She was “Home” for so many. A safe place to land and be welcomed with a hug- and of course a prayer.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Victor I Fredda, Jr., her parents and her brother James A. Fredericksen. Nancy is survived by her son, Daniel Fredda, daughter, Amy Nolan; grandchildren, Kelly (1983) and her husband, James, Katie (1988), Kari (1991), Andrea (1996); and great grandsons, Trenton (2007) and Jordan (2021) and great granddaughter, Mackenzie (2013) Her younger sister Janet Maxwell and her husband Woodrow, Jr.; and family of Galveston, Texas, her sister in law Peggy Fredericksen and family of Houston, Texas.
