OLWYN RUTH GENSEL CRYSTLE 10-17-25 to 6-29-20
Olwyn Ruth (Gensel) Crystle was born on October 17, 1925, in Moosic, PA.and passed through Heaven's Gate on June 29, 2020. Daughter of Lester Gensel and Bertha (Owens) Gensel. She is preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) Crystal, her three brothers, Ralph, Bill and Clairmont (Nick), her sister Mary, her nieces Ginny (Kilian) and Ruth Ann (Polley). She is survived by her Great Niece Lisa (Kilian) Sabatino, her husband Anthony, Orlando, FL, her Great Nephew Conrad Kilian Jr., his wife Nelly and their children Conrad III, Norfolk, VA, Christopher and Elizabeth, Orlando, FL, Nephew-in-law Conrad Kilian, Sr., his wife Norma and Sister-in-law Ruth (Webb) Gensel, Cape May, NJ. Having worked as a telephone operator in Pittston, Pennsylvania, she moved to Orlando, Florida to take a position with Southern Bell in 1962. She was promoted to Supervisor at AT&T and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed showing off her award-winning Camelias, strategically investing in stocks, watching gameshows, and cheering for her favorite football player, Peyton Manning, and her favorite basketball player, LeBron James. She loved horse racing and never missed watching the competition for the Triple Crown. Olwyn was a strong-willed lady and determined to care for herself after the passing of her husband in 2004. She lived alone until age 90 when she moved into a Memory Care Assisted Living because Alzheimer's Disease took her mind, and eventually her body. She was lovingly cared for at Serenades by Sonata West Orange until her passing on Monday June 29, 2020. She was loved by all and will be remembered for her quick wit, her German Chocolate Cake, the brevity of the celebrations hosted at her house, her flirtatious eye-lash-fluttering whenever she was introduced to a handsome man, signing cards and letters with a ladybug sticker and for always taking the time to stop and smell the flowers. She loved life.
She requested no funeral/memorial service.
