

Ruth was born on January 11, 1963 in Fort Gordon, Augusta, Georgia. She was the third child to parents Candida Rosa Salgado and Victor Manuel Colon-Rodriguez, both from Puerto Rico. Her birth was proceeded by sister Ana R. Colon-Liberatore and brother Victor L. Colon, and followed by Maria D. Colon-Repass. Ruth grew up alongside her parents and siblings as they traveled around the world during her father’s prestigious career in the U.S. Army.
She was a 1981 Graduate of Colonial High School, and 1986 graduate of Valencia Community College, both in Orlando Florida.
On May 16, 1987, she married Max Arvelo with whom she had two sons-Joseph Alexander Arvelo in 1988 and Luis Manuel Arvelo in 1991.
Ruth had an admirable career with Wells Fargo that spanned over 29 years beginning when the company originated as First Union than Wachovia. Her work ethic and driven nature made her an asset to her company and co-workers, who became like a second family to her.
Ruth was proceeded in death by her father, Victor Colon-Rodriguez in May 2018. She is survived by her mother, husband, two sons, and three siblings. She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family, friends and others are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Memorial for Ruth on Sunday April 24 2022 at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, located at 7520 Aloma Ave, in Winter Park Florida.
Visitation will be from 12pm-2pm, followed by a service from 2pm-3pm and concluding with a memorial social from 3pm-5pm.
