

RICKER, LOUISE of Winter Park, Florida died on October 25, 2010. She was born in Paulding County, Georgia on August 19, 1921. She completed her education in Washington, DC where she became an administrative assistant. In 1941 she married R. Russell Ricker while he was in the U.S. Navy. After he completed his service, she and Russell opened gift shops in the Washington, DC area. They then moved to Orlando where
Russell's position with Tupperware allowed Louise to travel with him throughout the world. Louise enjoyed genealogical research particularly of her family members in Paulding County. She had diverse interests from playing the guitar or square dancing to breeding birds. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Park, the Daughters of the America Revolution and the Colonial Dames. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Jean Flaherty (John); her step-brother, Ernest Bayne; niece, Patricia A. Flaherty; great-nieces, Jennifer Smith (Gordon) and Maria Rex (William); great-great nieces and nephews, Michael Smith, Trent Rex, Rachel Rex and Samantha Smith; and her friend of over 50 years, Juliana I. Wilson. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, at Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home, 1350 West Fairbanks Avenue, Winter Park, Florida, with Reverend Mike Armstrong of the First Baptist Church of Winter Park officiating. A reception for friends and family will follow at the funeral home before interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, Florida.
