Sherene Lynette Dillon

There are some special people whose love becomes the quiet foundation of a family. The steady presence. The safe place. The voice you always expect to hear, and the heart you assume will always be there. For our family, that irreplaceable person was Sherene.

Born in Farmington, New Mexico, on July 1, 1959, Sherene’s life journey eventually led her to Kennewick, Washington. It was there, on May 5, 1977, that she married the love of her life, Mitchell Alvin Dillon. Together, they hand-built a beautiful life, a welcoming home, and a family rooted in pure devotion. On May 30, 2026, Christ rescued Sherene allowing her to peacefully pass away, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love and serving as the ultimate example of a "Whosoever."

Sherene’s greatest joy was never measured by titles or possessions, but by the family she held so close. She was a deeply devoted wife, a fiercely proud mother to Jennifer, Jodee, and Jacob, a doting grandmother who adored her little ones, and a cherished sister. Her love wasn't just spoken; it was felt in every quiet sacrifice, every comforting phone call, every warm hug, and her endless belief in us, even when we struggled to believe in ourselves.

She opened her heart to her dogs, treating them like family and finding so much comfort in their companionship. She loved the freedom of the open road, traveling across America and finding beauty in new places. Yet, no matter where the road took her, the destination never truly mattered. What mattered was simply being together with the people she loved.

Today, our hearts are completely shattered. Grief is the price we pay for extraordinary love, and Sherene loved us extraordinarily. Even in our deep sorrow, we are filled with overwhelming gratitude for the beautiful years, the tender lessons, and the sweet memories she gave us as a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Though we miss her desperately, a love like hers never disappears—it lives on in the family she raised and the stories we will carry forward.

Sherene was gently reunited in heaven with her parents, Robert Leon Haliburton, and Betty Marie Winterrowd Haliburton. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Mitchell; her children, Jennifer, Jodee, and Jacob; her cherished grandchildren; her siblings; and all those whose lives were made sweeter simply because she was in them.

Sherene, we weren’t ready to say goodbye, and we miss you more than words can ever say. Thank you for being our safe harbor and our home.
