Stella Chicoine Curtin

Stella Chicoine Curtin, age 95, of Maitland, FL, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024. Born on July 23, 1929, in Upton, Quebec, Canada, Stella lived a life filled with love, family, and joy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who cherished each moment spent with her loved ones.

From 1979 to 1997, Stella worked as a waitress at the Orlando Country Club, where her warmth and kindness touched all who met her. Outside of work, she found happiness in simple pleasures: spending time at the beach, gardening, reading the Orlando Sentinel, and checking the daily mail.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Curtin Jr.; her great-great-granddaughter, SkyLynn Mango; her parents, Helene LaPalme and Rodolphe Chicoine; and her siblings: Malvina Chicoine (Roland Ledoux), Florence Chicoine (Olivia St-Pierre), Marie-Paule Chicoine (Lucien Lepine), Rene Chicoine (Liliane Smith), Berthe Chicoine, Ephrem Noel Chicoine, Noella Chicoine (Herve Petit), Jeane-Noel Chicoine (Fernande Lemay), Lucille Chicoine (Jean-Guy Laplante), and brothers-in-law Maurice Royer, Marcel Girard, and Martial Savoie.

She is survived by her son, William Curtin (Alexis Curtin); her grandchildren, Cassandra Curtin (James Scott), Anthony Curtin (Alisha Curtin), Brad Locke, and Michelle Locke; her great-grandchildren, Jayda, Brian, Cadon, Aleiah, Jayson, Gage, and Hensleigh; her siblings, Rose-Aimee Chicoine, Andre Chicoine (Claire), Helen Chicoine, and Marie-Ange Chicoine; and her brother-in-law, Paul-Andre Bissonnet and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Stella’s family and friends will carry her memory and legacy in their hearts, forever cherishing her love, resilience, and kindness.

A visitation for Stella will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 7520 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792. A funeral service will occur on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. Following the service, a graveside service will take place from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789. There will be a Celebration Of Life at 4:00 pm after the graveside service at 600 Central Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751
