Thomas Andrew Conlee was born on Christmas Day, 1928 in Jamestown, Kansas. He had three brothers and two sisters. When Thomas was 12, he and his family moved to Northbridge, Massachusetts so his father and older brothers could work in the mills. When World War II started, 13 year-old Thomas took care of his little sister, Beth, while his parents worked at the local munitions factory. In 1951, Thomas went into the U.S. Army and served in Germany for two years. Soon after returning to the states, Thomas went into business with his brother, Bernard. They started a construction company in Masonville, New Jersey. It was in Mount Holly where he met his future wife, Josephine “Judy” Johnson. They were married in 1955. The couple had three sons, Thomas (Charles), Kevin, and Daniel. Thomas (Andrew) took a job with the Masonite Corporation. In 1974, Thomas moved the family to Orlando so he could run Masonite’s Florida Distribution Center. The Conlee family lived in their house on Jamerson Place for 48 years. Judy passed away in 2022. Thomas moved to Oviedo and died of complications from Covid on December 28, 2024. Those who knew him will forever miss his kindness, his wisdom, his humor, and his unwavering support and love of family.
